From 10 essential papers for practicing EBM to 10 essential papers for teaching EBM
David Nunan Centre for Evidenced-Based Medicine, University of Oxford |
Background
Our 2018 paper "Ten essential papers for the practice of evidence-based medicine" highlighted some of what we considered the essential reading for anyone starting out on an evidence-based medicine journey. Our list was not designed to be exhaustive, and no doubt many will disagree with some (but perhaps not all) of our top 10, as we certainly did. It was, however, a useful exercise to discuss the papers and here I would like the opportunity to do so with the EBHC conference delegates. In addition, and given the conference is all about teaching EBM/EBHC, there is the interesting discussion to be had around a top 10 papers for teaching EBM/EBHC. I propose that this workshop acts as the seed for such a discussion and subsequent collaborative paper.
Aims
To present and discuss the papers behind our "Ten essential papers for the practice of EBM" and to identify the top 10 papers for teaching EBM/EBHC from a cohort of EBHC teachers.
Program
Presentation and discussion of the Ten essential papersWorkshop to select and draft a "Top ten papers for teaching EBM/EBHC".
